Designing experiences,
growing with every project.
Not trying to reinvent everything. Just trying to make it better.
I didn’t always know I’d be a designer (I was an all-As engineering kid growing up) But then Covid happened. The world paused, and I found myself spending hours lost in grids, colors, and layouts. Not for a grade, not for anyone else, just because it felt right. That’s when I knew: this was something I truly loved.
When I told my brown family I wanted to go to art school, their reaction was full-on desi drama. In their world, design wasn’t something smart kids pursued. But a few tantrums later…
I went on to study Communication Design at Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, majoring in Interaction Design, and eventually practicing design professionally. Not once have I felt like I’m doing this because I have to. It’s never felt forced.
My earliest design work didn’t live on a screen, it lived in the way people smiled
During my internship as the CEO of the Senior Citizens Welfare Program, in Nixor College, I worked with people whose needs weren’t obvious or always voiced. And I realized: even then, I was designing. Not screens, but experiences.
That taught me how to observe, ask better questions, and hold space for others. Empathy was my first design tool: to always ask “why” before "how".
Because real impact starts with understanding, and that still shapes everything I design today.
